Regels voor het koppelen van lettertypen
Hier zijn enkele basisregels om geweldige lettertypecombinaties te maken:
1. Aanvulling
Het is altijd veilig om lettertypecombinaties te vinden die elkaar aanvullen.
Een geweldige lettertypecombinatie moet harmoniëren, zonder te veel op elkaar te lijken of te verschillend te zijn.
2. Gebruik lettertype-superfamilies
Een lettertype-superfamilie is een set lettertypen die is ontworpen om goed samen te werken. Het is dus veilig om verschillende lettertypen binnen dezelfde superfamilie te gebruiken.
De Lucida-superfamilie bevat bijvoorbeeld de volgende lettertypen: Lucida Sans, Lucida Serif, Lucida Typewriter Sans, Lucida Typewriter Serif en Lucida Math.
3. Contrast is koning
Twee lettertypen die te veel op elkaar lijken, zullen vaak conflicteren. Echter, contrasten, op de juiste manier aangebracht, brengen het beste in elk lettertype naar boven.
